1993 Porsche 968

Here is a picture of what used to be my 1993 Porsche 968 Cabriolet. As of 1/31/2002, I have purchased a 2000 Audi S4. I loved the car, but it was time to let it move on and move on myself to something a little newer with a few more amenities...

The color (which I got asked about alot) is "Wimbledon Green Metallic".

I have also replaced the rear speakers with 4" x 6" Polk Audio EX462a speakers as one of the original Blaupunkt speakers was blown. The AM/FM cd player that came with the car is not original.

I purchased a replacement Owner's Manual from My Porsche in Seaside, CA, and a replacement spare tire pump from Carlsen Porsche.

Impressions of my vehicle: I love it!

August, 2000: It is sure a lot of work to keep it looking nice, and to ensure top running condition. A lot of my recent repairs are due to the fact that I am fixing a few of the things that were not right with it when I purchased it. In the future, with regular maintenance and care, the cost of ownership should go down.

March, 2001: I haven't had any major repair needs for quite some time now, and the last real maintenance item was in November! If it weren't for that stupid pothole in Foster City, I would have only put $1.29 in maintenance in the car since last year. With regular attention, this car just gets better and better!

January, 2002: Well, I saw the S4 for sale and took it for a spin. After calculating my average monthly maintenance cost for the 968 (almost $400 a month!), and seeing as how I really wanted more modern transportation, plus something a little bit more practical for the dog, I decided to go with the S4. I will definitely miss the Porsche, however. I plan to get another 968 someday...
